Why Intentful not Intentional

Why intentful and not intentional: I was thinking about how much time I spend just thinking but not actually doing and laughed to myself that I was a "thoughtful" person but what I need to be is an "intentful" person. My thoughts need to transcend into intentional action and thus I need to move away from being "thoughtful" to "intentful".

A visit from Uncle Daniel

Uncle Daniel came to visit the weekend prior to memorial day. Oh, the plans we had for him. The hikes through the Gorge. The exploration through downtown, the museums, the best of Portland. The bonding L was going to get with "Pretty, Orange Hair Daniel".

Sadly the odds were against us and his visit fell around day 9 of the 20+ days of strait monsoon rain. But we Portlanders we know rain, we can work around rain. However, a small charming child happened to get Hand, Foot, Mouth disease hours before Daniel arrived. That is much harder to work around.

We did manage to get a few very wet walks in through some of our favorite Portland trails. And L and Daniel did get a few good moments of play time. For being a bachelor without kids I go to say Daniel was one of the most understanding, caring, uncles a 2 year old could ask for.

One evening after lots of Pedilite and Tylenol dispensed through a large eye dropper L and Daniel got to cook and have coffee together.

L showing Daniel the art of cutting velcro food.

Daniel listened carefully and dutifully followed directions in cutting a cucumber.

They then put some cookies together. And although we lack the visual documentation spent quite a lot of time working on getting them ready for the oven.

L gave Daniel a coffee break when the "cookies" were ready to eat.
