My first baby is growing up way, way to fast. I know it is cliche but if you ever want to put your life on fast forward have a child. There are times when I will just grab her and hold her for as long as I can cause I just know the ability to do so will be over in a blink of an eye. At nearly four years of age there is no baby left in my baby, there isn't a trace of toddler and sometimes I fear she doesn't even really seem like the preschooler that she is suppose to be. Case in point recently she and her best friend Aubree had their first sleepovers-first at our house then the next week at Aubree's house. No tears, no distress, no missing of the parents. They seriously acted as if they were eight and not nearly four. It probably helps that they have spent many an afternoon at each others houses without their own mom, but still I struggle to believe not a tear. Well, that is not entirely true-I texted Aubree's mom Cheryl a picture of the girls at bed time and she texted me back ,"I didn't shed a tear dropping off Aub on first day of preschool. But something about her having her first real sleepover got to me." Well she wasn't the only one having a hard time keeping those eyes dry.

It started with some playtime in the fort that we made. |

One of the sweetest things about L & Aub's friendship is they are so like minded when they play. Already they are the type of friends who finish each other's sentences |
Of course it wasn't long till both were adorned in princes clothes. (Neither wanted this picture taken, obviously.) |
After a viewing of The Little Mermaid and bath that included lots of mermaid play the girls cuddled in L's bed for story time. |

But who are we kidding? It was a sleepover, and a first sleepover at that. So... |
...lots of crazy girl playtime was to be had. |
Emphasis on the CRAZY girl playtime. |
And some how amidst all the shrieking, the laughter, and the crazy a daddy and baby slept through it all. |
Adorable!
