Why Intentful not Intentional

Why intentful and not intentional: I was thinking about how much time I spend just thinking but not actually doing and laughed to myself that I was a "thoughtful" person but what I need to be is an "intentful" person. My thoughts need to transcend into intentional action and thus I need to move away from being "thoughtful" to "intentful".

Rather Random Life Bits

*Moved & settled in paradise...er I mean San Diego. Our family is loving this beautiful city & the endless activities. Don't think I will ever tire of sunny 75* days & warm waters.

*We started attending a church that we like and are beginning to plug in and get to know people.

*My iPhone GPS is infuriating and often puts me off a street or two-not a good thing when you have no clue where you are to begin with. Joe's droid's GPS is SO awesome that I am highly considering abandoning the i for a droid.

*I recently read "Fifty Shades of Grey" ......Ummmm dare I write a real review?

*We got L into the preschool we wanted! A preschool that generally has a two-year wait list, somehow God literally slipped her in there.

*Our cat Felix went missing a week after we arrived. Pretty much each person we have met has informed us that cats and small dogs should never be outside alone here, and if your pet isn't back by 4 pm that is the end of your pet. Why? Because there is a crazy amount of coyotes roaming San Diego. I would be rather speculative of this absurd information had I not seen my first coyote looking out of a friends living room window!

* Elle loves the beach life and is happiest splashing in the waves. However, she is still struggling greatly with this move and will randomly burst into tears saying that she just wants to go home. It is heart wrenching. She misses her friends, her schedule, her life, the familiarity. Felix going missing has not helped.

* And on that note....We recently let Elle pick out two kittens from the humane society, two of the sweetest most loving kittens a sad four year old could want. They have been a God send, and gently take all the manhandling the girls dish out. Currently the girls spend most of their time playing "animal scientists" with those poor kitties.

*Hannah, our previous non talker, skipped all regular talking progression and went strait to full sentences. With barely two teeth and barley 15 months old she is often still difficult to understand, however, other times she is ridiculously clear. It started this past week when I asked her, "Hannah, why are you all wet?" and she clearly replied, "I took a bath." Joe informed me that he had indeed just pulled her out of the still damp shower. Then we stared at each other dumbfounded. A few other things she has said clearly, "Hi Mom, I see you." "What are you doing, Dada?" "I go to bed now." "I did!" and her current favorite phrase, "Here you go!" She has other sentences but those are the ones that are currently clear in my mind.

*Hannah also has no sense of fear or caution. She climbs EVERYTHING and recently jumped off a two foot high stool! She is a total adrenaline junky and loves to sit on Joe's shoulders, without holding on, and then randomly throwing herself back so she is dangling upside down as Joe clings to her ankles, shouting for help above Hannah's roaring laughter. And like her sister she loves being at the beach but has to be watched like a hawk as she is always darting to be crushed under a wave. Our prayer is to keep her alive until she is five, if we can get her to five I think she will be alright.

*Elle LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the San Diego Zoo, as well as the Wild Animal Safari Park. I think the Safari Park has actually trumped the zoo due to its shear volume of "Keeper Talks". Unfortunately, the zoo is ten minutes away where as the Safari park is closer to 40 minutes. Needless to say her two year determination to one day be a zoologist is living on. Thank you Granddad and Oma for the two for one pass!

There is more to update but will leave with a few pictures of the past month:

Hannah running happily with her new must have on necklaces.
 Elle at her happy place.

Hannah helping me unpack right after we moved in.

Hannah playing school with Elle as the teacher of course.
Elle dancing to Bach being played from the country's largest outdoor pipe organ.
Music loving Hannah was mesmerized by the sounds.
Elle singing to herself as she plays with rose petals in our front yard.
And Hannah one minute into making a huge mess.
Elle getting ready to put on an elaborate show for Hannah, and Hannah eagerly waiting in anticipation. But really this deserves its own blog post if ever I blog again :-)

And finally the AMAZING view from our street. Every time I see it I am reminded of God's incredible kindness and love. Anyone who has ever looked for a rental house in San Diego knows what slim pickings there are, and to find this house, at this price, in this neighborhood and to actually get is is truly a miracle. The more people we meet the more they confirm the improbability of our house "luck".
