Why Intentful not Intentional

Why intentful and not intentional: I was thinking about how much time I spend just thinking but not actually doing and laughed to myself that I was a "thoughtful" person but what I need to be is an "intentful" person. My thoughts need to transcend into intentional action and thus I need to move away from being "thoughtful" to "intentful".

Rainbow Swim Party

Hands down this has been my favorite of L's birthday parties. It may of been because we had it at the fabulous SW Community Center that ensures you do not worry about a thing (the two party servants, um I mean host, were AWESOMELY helpful). It may of been because it was by far the simplest of parties I have thrown her as far as decor/activities go. It could simply of been not having the stress of hosting it at my house. But all in all I think it was the combination of great friends swimming in a warm pool in a very warm room on a very cold December day that made it so uber awesome.
(Not picture featured the super fast, super fun indoor water-slide. Which very surprisingly L LOVED)

L's brilliant idea of decorate your own rainbow cupcakes.
The favor bags-inside contents all picked out by L (made favors way easy to do)
We started the parry off with rainbow finger painting as the guest arrived. The kids did it very patiently as they waited for the two things they all really wanted 1) decorate rainbow cupcakes, 2) pool time

L quickly blew out her candle. And even posed for a rare picture with me.

Then happiness reigned as decorating rainbow cupcakes commenced.
Hannah watched happily with Joe, as the ever patient, good natured Devin waited to decorate his.

Ella ready to take a rainbow bite and L showing off her crazy cupcake creation. The kids helped L open her presents very quickly cause...

The much waited pool time was next! (Sadly the Corcoron boys and Miss Kate were not able to stay for the water fun).

Aub, Ella, L & Maddeline up to something.......

This amazing lady just had a c-section a few days before! (And the always fabulous Cheryl who helped make this party happen in so many ways.)
Typical-Aub caring L around the pool. I do believe L was a hurt baby animal and Aub was the animal rescuer this time. The game that never ends with these two.
More happy pretend summer fun. Did I mention that it was below freezing most of the day? Even had freezing fog in the morning.
Hannah wishing so much that she was a big kid too. (She did get a little bit of pool time)

And the very sweet five day old baby Rowen sleeping soundly.

  1. Nice party! I have a winter birthday and always wanted a pool party. Ice skating is fun, but there's just something amazing about swimming when it's freezing outside. Glad you got to give Linnea this gift. I'm thinking a pool party needs to be in our near future :)

  2. This looks SO. FREAKING. AWESOME. I think L needs to have a swim party every year! Think of the possibilities, and it totally differentiates her birthday from the holidays. I love everything about this. The cupcakes are awesome, the decorations are super cute, and I love L's dress and barrette. Also, Hannah in her swimsuit is tooth-hurting cute. I'm so glad it all turned out so well!
