Your sleep needing 3.5 year old just won't sleep? Yes, I have watched enough Super Nanny to know the tricks, but am pretty sure none of them will work in this case. You see L didn't fall asleep till 11 pm last night and got up at 5:30 this morning. However, she isn't screaming, she isn't popping out of her room, or asking to go potty every 5 minutes. She is laying in her bed quietly telling her self stories and signing songs. When I go in there to say, "You really need to be sleeping now." She responds in the sweetest of voices, "I know mommy, I am really trying." For whatever reason sleep just isn't coming to her, I understand, I have those nights too. But I also know that she is going to be a TERROR today. Linnea's behavior is directly linked to her sleep quota (at least 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep) and 6.5 hours just won't cut it. Ugh, it is going to be a long day...is 6:30 am to early to crack open that bottle of wine? Probably. Darn. Guess I should start saying my mantra of the day now, "I can do all things through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13) cause I am going to be needing A LOT of super natural strength to get through this beast of a day.
Hang in there mama. I can relate to needing sleep kid. All 3 of mine are like that. Boo. She sounds so sweet explaining to you that she knows though. That's a sign of a very polite young lady...at least at 11pm :)
